The Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse are FDA-approved microcurrent instruments designed to treat pain and promote healing in our athletes. The Acuscope uses biofeedback to normalize nerve cell electrical activity, while the Myopulse targets soft and connective tissues like muscles, tendons, and ligaments to reduce inflammation and spasms. Together, they enhance the body’s natural healing by improving circulation and cellular function without drugs or invasive methods. 

This therapy is effective for a wide range of equine conditions, including but not limited to navicular disease, sidebone, ringbone, shin splints, muscle strains, ligament and tendon injuries, inflammation, and nerve damage. It’s particularly useful for pain management and accelerating recovery from injuries, often reducing healing time by 50% or more.

Acuscope treatments are cumulative because they use mild microcurrents (500 microamps or less) to stimulate cells to produce ATP, enhancing cellular repair and energy production. Unlike drugs or high-amperage devices, the body doesn’t build tolerance, so treatments become more effective over time, requiring shorter sessions with longer-lasting pain reliefssons for all levels of riders, from beginner to advanced.

Unlike TENS, which uses higher milliamp currents to block pain signals, or PEMF devices like MagnaWave, the Acuscope and Myopulse use microcurrents with biofeedback technology to monitor and adjust treatment based on tissue conductivity and cell capacitance. This ensures precise, tailored therapy that avoids overstimulation and promotes tissue normalization.

The number of treatments varies based on the condition’s severity and the horse’s response. Typically an initial series of three treatments within 72 hours is recommended, with most horses showing results within 3-4 weeks. Somewhere between 3 and 15 treatments on average.
